      AUTO MISHAP CLAIMS LIFE
      DEATH CLAIMED 29 YEAR OLD RONALD OSCAR SCHOFIELD, CHANDLER
      BUSINESSMAN, ABOUT 7 P.M. TUESDAY ON THE TURNER TURNPIKE, SEVEN MILES WEST
      OF THE CITY IN AN AUTO-TRUCK COLLISION.
      SCHOFIELD WAS COMING EAST WHEN THE AUTOMOBILE HE WAS DRIVING STRUCK
      THE REAR END OF A TRUCK, WENT OUT OF CONTROL AND TURNED OVER SEVERAL
      TIMES, CRUSHING HIM TO DEATH. HE WAS RETURNING FROM OKLAHOMA CITY WITH
      AN AUTOMOBILE HE HAD WORKED ON THERE, ACCORDING TO FRIENDS. THE DRIVER
      OF THE TRUCK WAS FROM MIDWEST CITY.
      SCHOFIELD OWNED AND OPERATED THE A. AND S. BODY SHOP ON SOUTH MANVEL
      STREET IN CHANDLER FOR SEVERAL YEARS.
      HE WAS BORN JULY 2, 1929 [ACTUALLY 1939] IN CHANDLER AND HAD LIVED
      HERE ALL HIS LIFE. HE WAS THE SON OF MRS RACHEL SCHOFIELD, CHANDLER, AND
      THE LATE TOMMY GLEN SCHOFIELD.
      FUNERAL SEVICES ARE TO BE HELD AT 2 P.M. FRIDAY AT THE CHANDLER
      FUNERAL HOME WITH REV. MIKE KELLY OFFICIATING. BURIAL IS TO BE IN THE
      OAK PARK CEMETERY.
      BESIDES HIS MOTHER, OTHER SURVIVORS INCLUDE HIS WIFE, KILENE [HAM],
      AND SON, KIM, OF THE HOME; A BROTHER, MUREL SCHOFIELD, CHANDLER; AND A
      SISTER, BONITA WONN, OKLAHOMA CITY.

      TRUCK TUESDAY NIGHT ON THE TURNER TURNPIKE WEST OF CHANDLER.
      THE DEAD: RONALD O. SCHOFIELD, 29, OF CHANDLER.
      CHANDLER POLICE SAID THAT SCHOFIELD'S CAR CRASHED INTO THE REAR OF
      AN INTERNATIONAL TRUCK-TRACTOR DRIVEN BY WILLIAM H. WINTZ, 40, OF MIDWEST
      CITY. BOTH VEHICLES WERE TRAVELING EAST. WINTZ WAS NOT INJURED.
